Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Clinical Assistant to join our medical office team for an afternoon roster. This pivotal role supports our healthcare providers by managing administrative tasks, ensuring a smooth patient flow, and contributing to a positive patient experience. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and check-in patients, verifying demographic and insurance information.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, managing the appointment calendar efficiently.
  • Prepare examination rooms for patient visits, ensuring cleanliness and adequate supplies.
  • Assist physicians and nurses with patient intake, including taking vital signs and documenting patient history.
  • Manage patient records, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and proper filing.
  • Process patient referrals and coordinate with external healthcare providers.
  • Handle incoming calls, answer patient inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain inventory of medical supplies and place orders as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and privacy policies (HIPAA).
  • Perform general office duties such as faxing, scanning, and data entry.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or Clinical Assistant.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and basic clinical procedures (e.g., vital signs).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA).
  • Associate’s degree in Medical Assisting or a related field.
  • Experience with Epic EHR system.
  • Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish).
