Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Center Pharmacy Technician to join our dedicated pharmacy team at Hillcrest Medical Center. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about healthcare who are looking to build a long-term career in a dynamic hospital environment. The successful candidate will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, managing inventory, and ensuring accurate and timely medication delivery to patients, contributing directly to positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications, including sterile compounding.
  • Maintain accurate patient medication records and profiles.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating medications.
  • Ensure proper storage and security of all pharmaceutical products.
  • Conduct medication reconciliations and assist with medication therapy management.
  • Process and fill medication orders, accurately labeling and packaging medications.
  • Communicate effectively with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Adhere to all state and federal regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Current Oklahoma Pharmacy Technician registration or eligibility to obtain.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification from PTCB or NHA.
  • Previous experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or medical center setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceutical calculations.
  • Experience with pharmacy automation systems.
