Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Night Duty Porter with a strong focus on emergency support to join our dedicated overnight team. This stable full-time position is crucial for ensuring the safety, security, and comfort of our guests and premises during night hours. The successful candidate will be the primary point of contact for guests and staff, handling a variety of tasks from luggage assistance to responding promptly to any arising issues, including emergency situations. A calm demeanor, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to service excellence are paramount.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol all areas of the hotel regularly to ensure security and identify any potential hazards or issues.
- Respond promptly and effectively to guest requests, inquiries, and complaints during night hours.
- Assist guests with luggage handling upon arrival and departure, ensuring a smooth experience.
- Monitor security cameras and alarm systems, reporting any suspicious activity immediately.
- Act as the first point of contact for all emergency situations, including fire alarms, medical emergencies, and security incidents, following established protocols.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks or escalate larger issues to the appropriate department.
- Prepare meeting rooms or public areas for the following day's activities.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the lobby and other public areas.
- Complete night audit checks and reports as required.
- Provide clear and concise handovers to the morning shift.
- Uphold hotel standards for safety, security, and guest satisfaction at all times.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer proficiency for report generation and guest inquiries.
- Ability to handle demanding situations calmly and professionally.
- Physical ability to lift and carry luggage, and be on feet for extended periods.
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel, hospitality, or security role.
- Knowledge of local area attractions and services.
- Experience with hotel property management systems (PMS).
