Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Nurse to join our exceptional team in a children’s hospital environment. This vital role involves providing specialized nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of pediatric development, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient advocacy. You will work within a supportive multidisciplinary team, utilizing your clinical expertise to make a profound difference in the lives of our young patients and their families. This position offers the stability of a full-time role with the convenience of weekly pay.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs, symptoms, and responses to interventions.
- Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medication administration, and discharge instructions.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records.
- Advocate for the needs of pediatric patients and their families.
- Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and child-friendly environment for patients.
Required Skills
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in pediatric nursing
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) certification
- Experience with electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic)
- Prior experience in a children's hospital or dedicated pediatric unit
