Job Description
As a Pharmacy Logistics Technician focusing on Freight & Distribution at McKesson, you will play a pivotal role in the efficient movement and management of pharmaceutical products within our distribution center. You will be responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound freight, ensuring accurate inventory, preparing shipments, and maintaining meticulous documentation. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance in a fast-paced environment. You will contribute directly to the healthcare supply chain, helping to ensure the timely delivery of critical medicines.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and track inbound and outbound pharmaceutical freight shipments.
- Perform accurate receiving, stocking, and picking of pharmaceutical products.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely, including forklifts and pallet jacks, if certified.
- Verify product quantities, lot numbers, and expiration dates against manifests and orders.
- Prepare shipments for delivery, including packaging, labeling, and documentation.
- Maintain organized inventory records and assist with cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Identify and report discrepancies, damaged goods, or potential shipping issues.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including DEA and FDA guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., inventory, quality control) and external logistics partners.
- Adhere to company safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or supply chain.
- Proven ability to manage and track freight and distribution processes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and inventory management.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification.
- Experience with pharmaceutical distribution or a highly regulated industry.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
- Knowledge of cold chain logistics and temperature-controlled storage.
- Associate's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
