Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Spectroscopy Specialist with a strong focus on Research & Development to join our innovative team. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere. You will be instrumental in developing and optimizing spectroscopic methods, analyzing complex samples, and interpreting data to advance our R&D projects. This role requires a deep understanding of various spectroscopic techniques and their application in material characterization, product development, and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and interpret spectroscopic experiments for R&D projects.
  • Develop and validate new analytical methods using various spectroscopy techniques (e.g., FTIR, Raman, UV-Vis, NMR, MS).
  • Perform routine and non-routine analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and final products.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide range of spectroscopic instrumentation.
  • Analyze and interpret complex spectral data, identifying key characteristics and providing actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional R&D teams to support new product development and existing product improvements.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, presentations, and documentation of research findings.
  • Stay current with advancements in spectroscopy and analytical chemistry.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior team members as needed.

Required Skills

  • Expertise in multiple spectroscopy techniques (e.g., FTIR, Raman, UV-Vis, NMR, Mass Spectrometry).
  • Proficiency in spectroscopic data acquisition, processing, and interpretation.
  • Strong understanding of analytical chemistry principles and method validation.
  • Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and data analysis software.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field.
  • Experience with hyphenated techniques (e.g., GC-MS, LC-MS).
  • Familiarity with chemometric data analysis techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience in method development and validation in a regulated environment.
  • Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) or programming languages (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis.
