Job Description
Are you passionate about data and eager to kick-start your career in data science? Microsoft is looking for an enthusiastic and analytical Junior Data Scientist to join our dynamic team, focusing specifically on insights derived from Microsoft Teams usage and performance. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and senior data scientists to transform complex data into actionable insights that drive strategic decisions and enhance user experience. Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets related to Microsoft Teams usage, features, and user behavior.
- Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Generate clear and concise reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with product teams to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and build data pipelines to monitor them.
- Support A/B testing initiatives and analyze results to inform product development and optimization.
- Assist in the maintenance and improvement of existing data models and analytical tools.
- Stay current with data science methodologies, tools, and best practices, continuously seeking opportunities for professional development.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and modeling.
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation.
- Foundational understanding of statistical concepts and machine learning algorithms.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for presenting technical findings.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Teams as a user.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics).
- Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
- Understanding of experimental design and A/B testing.
- Prior internship or project experience in a data-related role.
