Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and responsible Part-time Nanny to provide exceptional care for children primarily on weekends, with a dedicated focus on local suburb school pick-up services. This role is ideal for an energetic individual who loves working with children and can ensure their safety, engagement, and well-being during weekend hours. You will be a vital support system for families, offering peace of mind through reliable, attentive childcare and creating a fun, nurturing environment for the children.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely pick up children from local suburban schools on scheduled weekend afternoons.
- Provide engaging and age-appropriate activities, including creative play, outdoor time, and light educational support.
- Prepare simple snacks or meals as needed, adhering to any dietary restrictions.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and tidy environment for children during your care.
- Communicate effectively and transparently with parents regarding children's activities, behavior, and any notable events or concerns.
- Adhere strictly to family-specific routines, preferences, and house rules.
- Assist with light household tasks directly related to childcare, such as tidying play areas or washing children's dishes.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in childcare or nannying (e.g., babysitting, daycare, camp counselor).
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Reliable, insured transportation with appropriate child safety seats (if required by family or local regulations).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
- Demonstrated patience, creativity, and a genuine love for children.
- Ability to manage multiple children and varying age groups effectively and calmly.
- Basic first aid knowledge and the ability to act quickly in emergencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current CPR certification for infants and children.
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) coursework, degree, or relevant certifications.
