Job Description
Are you an experienced and safety-conscious driver with a Class A CDL and Hazmat endorsement? FedEx is seeking a dedicated Tanker Driver to join our team in Reno, NV. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous materials. We are looking for individuals who prioritize safety, possess strong communication skills, and are committed to adhering to all DOT regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate tanker trucks for the transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, documenting any defects or issues.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including DOT, Hazmat, and company policies.
- Load and unload materials, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Maintain accurate logs, manifests, and shipping documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Adhere to strict delivery schedules and routes.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and minor repairs as needed.
- Represent FedEx professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
- Hazmat (H) endorsement required
- Tanker (N) endorsement required
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience with tankers
- Clean driving record (MVR)
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience transporting a variety of hazardous materials
- Familiarity with local and regional routes in Nevada
- Previous experience with a major logistics or transportation company
- Strong mechanical aptitude
