Job Description

Are you an experienced and safety-conscious driver with a Class A CDL and Hazmat endorsement? FedEx is seeking a dedicated Tanker Driver to join our team in Reno, NV. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous materials. We are looking for individuals who prioritize safety, possess strong communication skills, and are committed to adhering to all DOT regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate tanker trucks for the transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, documenting any defects or issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including DOT, Hazmat, and company policies.
  • Load and unload materials, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate logs, manifests, and shipping documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
  • Adhere to strict delivery schedules and routes.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks and minor repairs as needed.
  • Represent FedEx professionally at all times.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
  • Hazmat (H) endorsement required
  • Tanker (N) endorsement required
  • Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience with tankers
  • Clean driving record (MVR)
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
  • Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience transporting a variety of hazardous materials
  • Familiarity with local and regional routes in Nevada
  • Previous experience with a major logistics or transportation company
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
