Job Description
Join BayCare Health System as a Part-time Newborn Care Aide for our weekend night shifts in New Port Richey, FL. You will play a crucial role in supporting new parents and ensuring the well-being of newborns during their hospital stay. Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate and attentive care to newborns during weekend night shifts, including feeding, changing diapers, and comforting infants.
- Assist new mothers with breastfeeding and infant care education under the supervision of nursing staff.
- Monitor newborn vital signs and report any unusual observations to the nursing team promptly.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized nursery environment.
- Document care provided and observations accurately in patient records.
- Support parents with questions and concerns regarding newborn care, offering reassurance and guidance.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Participate actively in all required training and professional development sessions.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated compassion and a genuine interest in infant care.
- Ability to work weekend night shifts (e.g., Friday/Saturday nights, Saturday/Sunday nights).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to lift and move infants safely.
- Basic computer literacy for documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (paid or volunteer) in a childcare setting or with infants.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Enrollment in a nursing or healthcare-related program.
