Job Description
Are you passionate about technology and helping others? TELUS is looking for a PC Setup Aide to provide essential support to our customers, ensuring their home connectivity and computer setups are seamless and efficient. In this role, you will guide customers through setting up new devices, troubleshooting internet connections, and optimizing their home network environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a knack for technology and a desire to make a tangible difference in people’s daily lives by ensuring they stay connected.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers with the setup and configuration of new personal computers and peripheral devices.
- Troubleshoot common internet connectivity issues, Wi-Fi problems, and home network configurations.
- Guide customers through software installation and basic system optimization.
- Provide clear, patient, and friendly technical support over the phone, via chat, or through remote access tools.
- Educate customers on best practices for device security and network maintenance.
- Document customer interactions, technical issues, and resolutions accurately.
- Escalate complex technical problems to senior support staff when necessary.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of PC hardware and software.
- Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, macOS).
- Knowledge of home networking concepts (routers, modems, Wi-Fi).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience and a customer-centric attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a technical support or customer service role.
- Certifications like CompTIA A+ or equivalent.
- Experience with remote desktop software.
- A genuine interest in consumer electronics and home technology.
