Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Contract Shopify Developer to join our network of independent contractors. This is a remote, flexible gig-based role designed for professionals who thrive on diverse projects and value weekly payouts. You will be responsible for developing, customizing, and maintaining Shopify stores, themes, and apps for various clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Shopify platform, Liquid templating language, and front-end web technologies. You will work on a project-by-project basis, offering you the flexibility to manage your workload and schedule. This position is 100% remote.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and customize Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Implement new features and functionalities for Shopify stores.
- Integrate third-party applications and APIs with Shopify.
- Debug and troubleshoot issues related to Shopify themes and apps.
- Optimize Shopify stores for performance, scalability, and SEO.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsive design for all projects.
- Maintain high standards of code quality and best practices.
Required Skills
- Expertise in Shopify theme development and the Liquid templating language.
- Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 (SCSS), and JavaScript (ES6+).
- Experience with Shopify APIs and app integration.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Understanding of responsive design principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue.js).
- Familiarity with headless Shopify implementations.
- Knowledge of UI/UX best practices.
- Previous experience working in an agency or consulting environment.
- Shopify certification is a plus.
- Experience with performance optimization tools and techniques.
