Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Linen and Laundry Porter to join our busy team in Leeds City Centre. This is a crucial role for the smooth operation of our hotel, ensuring that all linen and laundry services are managed efficiently and effectively. The successful candidate will be responsible for the collection, sorting, delivery, and storage of all linens, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation. This is a routine role operating Monday to Friday, perfect for someone seeking consistent hours and a stable working environment within a supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect soiled linen from guest rooms, restaurants, and other hotel departments.
- Sort linen according to type and deliver to the laundry facility.
- Receive clean linen from the laundry and distribute it to appropriate storage areas and departments.
- Load and unload laundry equipment as required, following safety guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of linen storage rooms and work areas.
- Report any damaged linen or equipment malfunctions to management.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as directed.
- Adhere to all hotel health, safety, and hygiene standards.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy linen carts regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in sorting and distribution.
- Reliability and punctuality for routine Monday-Friday shifts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role within a hotel, hospitality, or laundry environment.
- Familiarity with various linen types and their care requirements.
