Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Reservoir Engineer Associate to join our team, physically located in our Downtown Tampa office. While the job title references “Houston Corporate” to denote the division or reporting structure, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to significant projects from our strategic Tampa location, with relocation assistance provided for qualified candidates. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the evaluation, development, and optimization of oil and gas assets. This position involves performing reservoir simulations, decline curve analysis, well performance analysis, and reserves estimation under the guidance of senior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed reservoir engineering studies, including material balance, decline curve analysis, and well test analysis.
- Perform reservoir simulation modeling and uncertainty analysis to forecast production and optimize field development plans.
- Collaborate with geoscientists, production engineers, and economists to integrate data and develop comprehensive asset strategies.
- Prepare and present technical reports, analyses, and recommendations to multidisciplinary teams and management.
- Support the estimation and reporting of oil and gas reserves in compliance with corporate and regulatory guidelines.
- Monitor well and reservoir performance, identify potential issues, and propose corrective actions or optimization opportunities.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline.
- 2+ years of experience in reservoir engineering roles within the oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., Petrel, Eclipse, CMG).
- Strong understanding of reservoir fluid properties, rock properties, and production mechanisms.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with unconventional reservoir engineering techniques.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or MATLAB for data analysis.
- Prior experience with economic evaluation software (e.g., ARIES, PEEP).
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
