Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Digital Asset Manager with a specialized focus on the intricacies of the Netflix Media Library. This critical role involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of our digital media assets, ensuring their integrity, accessibility, and discoverability. You will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing a vast collection of video, audio, image, and textual assets, with a particular emphasis on content destined for or derived from the Netflix platform. Your expertise will directly contribute to streamlining our content workflows, supporting production teams, and enhancing the overall efficiency of our media operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the ingestion, cataloging, metadata creation, and archiving of digital media assets, with a focus on Netflix-related content.
- Develop and enforce robust naming conventions, taxonomy, and metadata standards to ensure consistency and searchability across the media library.
- Oversee the quality control and rights management of assets, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements and distribution requirements for Netflix and other platforms.
- Collaborate closely with internal production, post-production, marketing, and legal teams to facilitate efficient asset retrieval and delivery.
- Administer and optimize Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems and tools, implementing best practices for asset security and version control.
- Provide training and support to users on DAM system functionality and asset management protocols.
- Stay current with industry trends in digital asset management, media technology, and Netflix-specific content delivery standards.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability of media asset workflows.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Digital Asset Manager or similar role, specifically with large-scale media libraries.
- In-depth knowledge of various media file formats (video, audio, image) and their technical specifications.
- Proficiency with enterprise-level Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager Assets, Bynder, censhare).
- Strong understanding of metadata schemas, content taxonomy, and rights management principles.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
- Demonstrated experience with content workflows related to major streaming platforms, with a significant understanding of Netflix's requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Systems, Media Production, or a related field.
- Certification in Digital Asset Management or related disciplines.
- Experience with scripting or automation tools for asset processing (e.g., Python).
- Familiarity with cloud-based media storage and asset management solutions (e.g., AWS S3, Azure Media Services).
- Project management experience in a media or technology environment.
- Deep understanding of the Netflix content ecosystem, including delivery specifications and archival processes.
