Job Description
Are you looking for an opportunity to start a career in environmental services with comprehensive training? Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Compost Facility Operator. This entry-level position requires no prior heavy machinery experience, as we provide full, paid training on all necessary equipment and safety protocols. You will play a crucial role in managing the composting process, contributing directly to our mission of sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate various types of heavy machinery, including front-end loaders, excavators, and screeners, after receiving comprehensive training.
- Monitor and manage compost piles, ensuring proper aeration, moisture, and temperature levels are maintained.
- Load and unload incoming organic materials and finished compost products.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facility areas, reporting any issues or maintenance needs.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.
- Maintain accurate daily logs of activities, material volumes, and equipment usage.
- Assist with general facility upkeep, cleaning, and grounds maintenance.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize composting processes and achieve operational goals.
Required Skills
- Ability to learn and operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently.

- Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
