Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Pharmacy Logistics Technician with a strong focus on freight and distribution to join our team in Huntsville, AL. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and accurate handling, storage, and distribution of pharmaceutical products within our state-of-the-art logistics facility. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance in a regulated environment. You will play a key role in the inbound and outbound flow of goods, utilizing various equipment and systems to manage freight movement effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming pharmaceutical shipments, verifying accuracy against purchase orders and identifying any discrepancies or damages.
- Safely and efficiently move materials within the warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing orders for shipment, ensuring correct product, quantity, and packaging integrity.
- Load outbound freight onto trucks, optimizing space and ensuring secure transit.
- Perform inventory counts and reconciliations, assisting in the investigation of variances.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with all company policies and regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, DEA).
- Operate warehouse management systems (WMS) and other inventory tracking software to record product movement and status.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize workflow and resolve operational issues.
- Adhere to strict handling procedures for controlled substances and temperature-sensitive products.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistics and distribution efficiency.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment, preferably within pharmaceuticals or a highly regulated industry.
- Proficiency in operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack). Forklift certification is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment and inventory management.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Previous experience with pharmaceutical distribution and regulatory compliance (e.g., FDA, DEA).
- Knowledge of cold chain logistics and handling of temperature-sensitive products.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
