Job Description

We are actively seeking dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to join our dynamic teams, working across both NHS and private healthcare settings within Islington and broader Greater London. You will provide essential support to nurses and other healthcare professionals, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, and feeding.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes or concerns to the nursing staff.
  • Support patients in maintaining their independence and dignity.
  • Help maintain a clean, tidy, and safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Assist with patient mobility and transfers using appropriate equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the wider healthcare team.
  • Document care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and clinical protocols.
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to patients.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures.

Required Skills

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience in a care setting (e.g., hospital, care home, community care)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions and work autonomously when required
  • Basic IT skills for documentation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in both NHS and private healthcare environments
  • First Aid certification
  • Moving and Handling training certificate
  • Phlebotomy or ECG skills
  • Knowledge of clinical systems and electronic patient records
