Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Data Analytics Specialist with a strong focus on Artificial Intelligence and Business Intelligence to join our dynamic team in Richland, WA. This role will be pivotal in transforming complex data into actionable insights, driving strategic decision-making across various research and operational domains. The successful candidate will leverage advanced analytical techniques, AI/ML models, and BI tools to develop robust data solutions, dashboards, and reports that inform our scientific endeavors and business processes. You will work closely with researchers, engineers, and leadership to understand their data needs and deliver high-impact analytical products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data models, ETL processes, and data pipelines to support BI and AI initiatives.
- Utilize statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and AI techniques to uncover trends, predict outcomes, and optimize processes.
- Develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using BI tools to present complex data insights clearly and concisely.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across various departments to gather requirements, define KPIs, and ensure data solutions align with business objectives.
- Perform ad-hoc data analysis to respond to critical business questions and support strategic planning.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all analytical projects.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices in data analytics, AI, and business intelligence, recommending and implementing new technologies and methodologies.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior analysts and promote data literacy within the organization.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation
- Experience with programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis and modeling
- Demonstrated expertise with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, QlikView)
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts and algorithms (e.g., regression, classification, clustering)
- Experience with data warehousing principles and ETL processes
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to communicate complex data insights effectively to technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for data analytics and AI services
- Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop)
- Experience in a scientific research or laboratory environment
- Project management experience in data-related projects
