Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Patient Transport – Non-Clinical support. In this vital role, you will ensure the safe, efficient, and comfortable transport of patients to and from various hospital departments, tests, and procedures. This is a non-clinical position, focusing on logistical support and patient comfort rather than direct medical care. You will play a crucial part in the patient experience, contributing to a smooth and organized workflow within our busy healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently transport patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed to various areas within the hospital, including diagnostics, therapy, and admission/discharge.
  • Assist patients with transferring to and from transport equipment, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with patients, families, and hospital staff.
  • Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of transport equipment.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards.
  • Respond promptly to transport requests and manage transport assignments effectively.
  • Provide clear and concise hand-off communication to receiving staff regarding patient location and status.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift patients and equipment safely
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Compassionate and patient-focused approach

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a healthcare or customer service setting
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
