Job Description
Are you a motivated 17-year-old looking for a part-time job that fits your after-school schedule? Amazon in Jersey City is seeking energetic and reliable Warehouse Sorters to join our team for evening shifts, Monday through Friday, from 4 PM to 8 PM. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable work experience in a fast-paced logistics environment, contribute to a global operation, and earn money while balancing your studies. No prior experience is required – we provide comprehensive training!
Key Responsibilities
- Sort packages and items according to designated routes and categories.
- Scan packages accurately using handheld devices.
- Load and unload packages from conveyor belts, carts, and trucks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily sorting goals.
- Follow instructions from supervisors to ensure efficient workflow.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 49 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Must be 17 years old at the time of application.
- Authorization to work in the US.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a fast-paced environment (e.g., retail, food service, sports) is a plus, but not required.
- Basic computer literacy for using scanning equipment.
