Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and thorough Hospital Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe, and sterile environment within our medical facility in Centennial, Colorado. This stable full-time position is crucial to patient health and safety, preventing infection, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for patients, visitors, and staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to follow strict cleaning protocols in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning tasks in patient rooms, offices, public areas, and clinical spaces, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, ensuring adequate supplies are maintained.
- Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and hazardous waste to designated disposal areas.
- Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
- Follow established infection control procedures and safety protocols.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Respond promptly to emergency cleaning needs and spills.
- Communicate effectively with other staff members and supervisors.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures regarding cleanliness and patient privacy.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and understand simple instructions and warnings.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safe use.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift, and push cleaning equipment for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in housekeeping or environmental services, particularly in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with hospital-grade cleaning products and equipment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
