Job Description
Join Living Spaces as a Part-time Student Driver Assistant focusing on furniture delivery! This entry-level position is perfect for students looking to gain valuable work experience while contributing to a fast-paced retail environment. You will work closely with our experienced delivery drivers, assisting with the safe and efficient transportation and setup of furniture in customers’ homes. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. It’s an excellent opportunity to learn about logistics, customer relations, and the furniture industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead drivers with the loading and unloading of furniture onto delivery vehicles, ensuring items are secured properly to prevent damage.
- Navigate routes efficiently using maps and GPS, helping drivers maintain delivery schedules.
- Carefully transport furniture into customers' homes, adhering to safety protocols and protecting property.
- Support the assembly and placement of furniture as required, ensuring customer satisfaction with the setup.
- Interact professionally and courteously with customers, addressing any questions or concerns during the delivery process.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, both in the vehicle and at the delivery site.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and traffic laws.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy furniture (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly throughout the day.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record (or ability to obtain one quickly).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in customer service or a delivery-related role.
- Familiarity with furniture assembly.
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and some evenings.
