Job Description
Are you looking for a fulfilling role that makes a real difference in your community? First Student in Frisco, TX is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as School Bus Drivers. This is a unique opportunity for those with no prior bus driving experience, including retirees, to embark on a new and meaningful career path. We provide comprehensive, paid training to help you obtain your Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger and school bus endorsements. Your primary responsibility will be the safe and timely transportation of students, ensuring they get to and from school safely and ready to learn. Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school and school-related activities.
- Adhere to assigned routes and schedules, maintaining punctuality.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, reporting any defects.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment.
- Interact positively and professionally with students, parents, and school staff.
- Ensure all passengers are seated and secure before operating the bus.
- Manage student behavior on the bus in a calm and effective manner.
- Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a valid driver's license for at least 3 continuous years.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical examination.
- Clean driving record (details will be discussed during interview).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine care for children's safety and well-being.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Willingness to undergo and successfully complete paid CDL training provided by First Student.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience working with children (e.g., volunteer, childcare, teaching).
- Customer service experience.
