Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Home Health Aide (HHA) to join our Afternoon Roster team, providing essential support to our local clinics and patients in their homes throughout Wichita, Kansas. This vital role involves assisting patients with activities of daily living, ensuring their comfort, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment during afternoon shifts. You will work closely with our nursing staff to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care, contributing significantly to our mission of holistic healing.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care services, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, utilizing proper body mechanics and assistive devices as needed.
- Prepare light meals and assist with feeding, adhering to specified dietary guidelines.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to ensure a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
- Remind patients to take prescribed medications as directed by the supervising nurse.
- Offer companionship and engage patients in appropriate, stimulating activities.
- Accurately monitor and report any changes in patient condition or behavior to the nursing staff.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation of services provided and patient observations.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, infection control procedures, and organizational policies.
Required Skills
- Current Home Health Aide (HHA) certification from an accredited program.
- Demonstrated compassion, patience, and empathy towards patients.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow detailed care plans and instructions accurately.
- Strong sense of reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
- Basic understanding of health, safety, and hygiene principles.
- Physical ability to assist patients with mobility, including lifting and transferring when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Home Health Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
- Valid Kansas driver's license and reliable personal transportation.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
