Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Central Fill Pharmacy Technician with a strong focus on high-volume production to join our team in Sunnyvale, CA. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in the precise and rapid dispensing of prescription medications within our state-of-the-art central fill facility. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, automated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate automated dispensing equipment and machinery for prescription filling and packaging.
- Perform precise counting, pouring, measuring, and labeling of medications according to physician orders.
- Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy of dispensed medications and proper labeling.
- Manage and maintain inventory, including receiving, stocking, and rotating pharmaceutical supplies.
- Adhere strictly to all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations, as well as company policies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment issues, escalating as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other technicians to optimize workflow and meet production targets.
Required Skills
- Current California Pharmacy Technician License (CPhT preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in a high-volume setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced production environment.
- Proficiency in pharmaceutical calculations and drug nomenclature.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with pharmacy management systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Strong commitment to patient safety and quality control.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a central fill pharmacy or mail-order pharmacy setting.
- Experience with pharmacy automation systems (e.g., ScriptPro, Parata).
- Associate's degree or higher in a related field.
