Job Description
Are you a skilled CDL-A truck driver looking for a long-haul opportunity with excellent benefits and the freedom to bring your furry companion along? Schneider is seeking dedicated and experienced Long Haul CDL-A Truckers to join our fleet. You will be responsible for the safe and timely transport of goods across designated routes, ensuring compliance with all DOT regulations and company policies while delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle for long-haul routes across various states.
- Adhere strictly to all federal, state, and local driving laws and regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS).
- Perform thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure operational safety.
- Properly secure cargo for transport, preventing damage and ensuring stability.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELDs) and complete all necessary delivery documentation.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Manage time efficiently to meet delivery schedules and pickup appointments.
- Represent Schneider professionally at all times, upholding company values and standards.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
- Minimum of 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Clean driving record (MVR) for the past 3 years
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Proficiency in electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations, including HOS rules
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with trucking
Preferred Qualifications
- Tanker (N) or HazMat (H) endorsements
- Experience with various types of freight (dry van, refrigerated, flatbed)
- Familiarity with GPS navigation and routing software
- Proven record of safety and on-time delivery
- Ability to operate manual and automatic transmissions
