Job Description

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and analytical Furniture Store Auditor with a keen eye for high-ticket items to join our team in Corpus Christi, TX. This critical role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of our store operations, focusing specifically on our premium furniture collections. The successful candidate will play a vital role in protecting company assets, identifying discrepancies, and recommending process improvements to enhance efficiency and profitability. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough audits of furniture store operations, inventory, sales transactions, and financial records, with a specific emphasis on high-ticket items.
  • Verify inventory counts against system records, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Assess compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
  • Review sales contracts, financing agreements, and delivery documentation for accuracy and completeness, particularly for large purchases.
  • Identify potential areas of risk, fraud, or operational inefficiency and report findings.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports with clear recommendations for corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with store management and other departments to implement audit recommendations.
  • Provide training and guidance to store staff on best practices for inventory management and sales processing.
  • Stay informed on industry best practices and internal audit standards.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in retail auditing, inventory management, or a related financial role, specifically within a high-value goods environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in retail point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple audit projects simultaneously.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and audit methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
  • Experience with furniture retail operations and supply chain logistics.
  • Knowledge of local and federal retail compliance regulations.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus in the Corpus Christi market.
