Job Description
Are you a passionate musician and educator eager to inspire the next generation of rock stars? School of Rock is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Traveling Music Teacher to join our team in the North Las Vegas area. This unique role involves delivering high-quality music instruction to students at various satellite locations, schools, and community centers, bringing the School of Rock experience directly to them. You will be responsible for teaching a variety of instruments (guitar, bass, drums, vocals, keyboards) in both individual and group settings, preparing students for live performances, and fostering a love for music. We offer a high daily rate and mileage reimbursement for your travel, recognizing your commitment to bringing music education to our diverse student body. Key Responsibilities
- Provide engaging and effective music instruction in various instruments (guitar, bass, drums, vocals, keyboards) to students of all ages and skill levels.
- Travel to various assigned locations within the North Las Vegas area to conduct lessons.
- Develop customized lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and School of Rock curriculum.
- Prepare students for live performances, recitals, and band practices.
- Maintain a positive and encouraging learning environment, inspiring students to achieve their musical goals.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school administration regarding student progress and scheduling.
- Manage and transport necessary teaching materials and equipment.
- Participate in faculty meetings and professional development sessions.
- Adhere to all School of Rock safety and operational policies.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in at least two of the following instruments: guitar, bass, drums, vocals, keyboards.
- Minimum 2 years of experience teaching music to diverse age groups.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Passion for music and music education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Performance, or a related field.
- Experience in performance-based music education programs.
- Knowledge of music theory and composition.
- Experience working with children and teenagers.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
