Job Description
Are you a college student or a responsible teen looking for a rewarding part-time opportunity? College Nannies, Sitters and Tutors of Schaumburg is seeking an energetic and reliable After-School Sitter to provide excellent care for children in local families’ homes. This role is perfect for individuals looking for flexible hours that fit around their academic schedule, offering valuable experience in childcare and a chance to make a positive impact on children’s lives. You will be responsible for picking up children from school, assisting with homework, preparing snacks, and engaging in fun, age-appropriate activities until parents return.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely pick up children from school and transport them home or to extracurricular activities.
- Assist children with homework and school projects, ensuring tasks are completed.
- Prepare healthy snacks and light meals.
- Engage children in creative, educational, and recreational activities.
- Maintain a safe and tidy environment.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents regarding children's daily activities and any observations.
- Follow family routines and house rules.
- Ensure children's well-being and safety at all times.
Required Skills
- Patience and a genuine love for children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Responsible and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Comfortable assisting with homework across various subjects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in childcare (babysitting, camp counselor, mentor, etc.)
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Currently enrolled in college or a high school student with strong academic standing.
- Experience with various age groups (elementary to middle school).
