Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Pharmacy Technician for a management opportunity at our New Port Richey location. This role is perfect for a certified pharmacy technician looking to take the next step into a leadership position, overseeing daily pharmacy operations, guiding a team of technicians, and ensuring exceptional patient care. You will play a crucial role in managing inventory, optimizing workflows, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of pharmacy technicians and support staff, providing training and performance feedback.
- Oversee the daily workflow of the pharmacy, ensuring efficient and accurate prescription processing and dispensing.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating medications and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, compounding (if applicable), and patient counseling support.
- Resolve customer service issues and handle escalated patient inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and help implement new operational strategies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
- Perform all duties of a Pharmacy Technician, including data entry, insurance processing, and prescription filling.
Required Skills
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification.
- Active State Pharmacy Technician license/registration in Florida.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, compounding, and medication dispensing.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and basic computer applications.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Experience with pharmacy inventory management systems.
- Familiarity with Walgreens pharmacy systems and procedures.
- Advanced compounding skills.
