Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nanny for a full-time, one-on-one childcare position in a wonderful family’s home located in Sandy, Utah. This role involves providing comprehensive care and engaging activities for a preschool-aged child, fostering their development in a loving and structured environment. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, reliable, and nurturing individual with a genuine passion for childcare and a commitment to long-term engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and engaging one-on-one care for a preschool-aged child, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities, crafts, and outdoor play.
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the child, ensuring dietary needs are met.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment for the child, including tidying play areas and children's rooms.
- Manage the child's daily schedule, including naps, meals, and activities.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents regarding the child's progress, activities, and any concerns.
- Assist with light household duties related to the child, such as children's laundry and meal cleanup.
- Provide transportation for the child to and from activities or appointments as needed.
- Administer basic first aid when necessary and adhere to all safety protocols.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable professional childcare experience, preferably in a one-on-one setting.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain immediately).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with children.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
- Non-smoker.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or certification in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Experience with positive discipline techniques.
- Knowledge of child development stages and age-appropriate learning strategies.
- Ability to swim for water activities (if applicable to family's plans).
- Fluency in a second language.
