Job Description
Are you ready to take your first step into the working world? Hy-Vee in Overland Park is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals for the role of Grocery Bagger – First Job Specialist. This entry-level position is perfect for students, recent graduates, or anyone looking to gain valuable experience in a supportive retail environment. We believe in fostering growth and providing a positive first job experience. As a Grocery Bagger, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our customers have a pleasant and efficient checkout experience by carefully bagging groceries and assisting with cart retrieval.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently bag groceries, ensuring proper weight distribution and product protection.
- Assist customers with carrying groceries to their vehicles, when requested.
- Retrieve shopping carts from the parking lot and return them to designated areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout lanes and bagging areas.
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service, greeting customers with a positive attitude.
- Support other store duties as needed, including light stocking or cleaning tasks.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures.
- Work effectively as part of a team to ensure smooth store operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
