Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Pharmacy Fulfillment Tech with a strong focus on sorting and shipping to join our team in Brooklyn. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately processing, sorting, and packaging prescriptions for shipment, ensuring timely and correct delivery to our patients. Your work will directly impact patient satisfaction and the efficient operation of our pharmacy fulfillment center. This position requires precision, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and verify incoming prescription orders against documentation.
- Accurately sort medications and ancillary items for packaging based on patient orders.
- Operate automated dispensing and sorting equipment efficiently.
- Package prescriptions securely and appropriately for various shipping methods.
- Generate shipping labels and prepare packages for pickup by delivery services.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including inventory areas.
- Monitor inventory levels of shipping supplies and report needs to management.
- Adhere to all pharmacy laws, regulations, and company policies, including HIPAA.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report major malfunctions.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and meet production targets.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, warehouse, or fulfillment center setting (6-12 months).
- Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT).
- Experience with automated dispensing and packaging systems.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and medication handling procedures.
