Job Description
Are you a professional CDL A truck driver looking for a career that allows you to bring your best friend along for the journey? Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial motor vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Transport freight across designated long-haul routes, ensuring timely delivery.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Secure cargo properly for safe transit.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs and delivery documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Manage the care and well-being of your accompanying dog, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
- Represent Schneider National professionally to customers and the public.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL A)
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Dedication to safety for yourself, your cargo, and your pet
- Proof of pet's vaccination and good health for travel
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year of verifiable Class A CDL driving experience
- Experience with various types of freight and trailers (e.g., dry van, reefer)
- Familiarity with ELD systems and in-cab technology
- Strong commitment to customer service
