Job Description

Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? United Way of Greater Kansas City is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Weekend Street Fundraisers. In this vital part-time social role, you will be the face of our organization, engaging with the public in high-traffic areas across the Crossroads Arts District and surrounding areas. Your primary goal will be to inspire support for our initiatives, explain the impact of United Way’s work, and recruit new donors to contribute to our mission. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are outgoing, have excellent communication skills, and are looking for a meaningful way to spend their weekends contributing to a cause they believe in. No prior fundraising experience is necessary – we provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to ensure your success. This is a local, on-site role directly interacting with the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage positively and proactively with the general public in designated high-foot-traffic areas.
• Clearly articulate United Way of Greater Kansas City's mission, vision, and current campaigns.
• Inspire individuals to become regular donors and supporters of our community programs.
• Answer questions from potential donors accurately and persuasively.
• Process donations securely and efficiently using provided tools.
• Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily and weekly fundraising targets.
• Represent United Way of Greater Kansas City professionally and ethically at all times.
• Participate in daily briefings and training sessions to enhance fundraising techniques and knowledge.
• Maintain accurate records of interactions and donations as required.
