Job Description
Are you passionate about cars and looking for an entry-level opportunity to get your foot in the automotive industry? AutoZone in Lincoln, Nebraska, is seeking a dedicated Automotive Parts Picker to join our dynamic team. No prior experience is required – we provide comprehensive training to help you succeed! In this role, you will be responsible for accurately selecting, organizing, and preparing automotive parts for delivery or customer pickup, ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently. This is a hands-on position that involves working directly with a wide variety of automotive components.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and retrieve automotive parts from warehouse shelves and storage bins based on order tickets.
- Verify part numbers and quantities to ensure order accuracy.
- Organize and prepare parts for shipping or delivery, ensuring proper packaging and labeling.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the parts warehouse.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving, stocking, and cycle counts.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as hand trucks or pallet jacks safely and efficiently (training provided).
- Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding inventory status or order discrepancies.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and understand part numbers and order details.
- Basic mathematical skills for counting and verification.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, retail, or automotive environment is a plus but not required.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Familiarity with automotive parts or systems.
