Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Cattery Attendant to join our team for flexible casual shifts across various PetSmart locations. This role is perfect for individuals who have a genuine love for cats and are committed to providing them with a safe, clean, and stimulating environment. As a Cattery Attendant, you will be responsible for the daily care, feeding, and well-being of our feline guests, ensuring their comfort and happiness. This is an on-site position requiring physical presence at our facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily feeding and fresh water for all cats according to specific dietary needs.
  • Clean and sanitize cat enclosures, litter boxes, and common areas thoroughly and regularly.
  • Monitor the health and behavior of cats, reporting any concerns or changes to supervisors immediately.
  • Administer medication as directed by veterinary staff or management (with proper training).
  • Engage with cats through play, petting, and enrichment activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of feeding, cleaning, and health observations.
  • Assist with intake and departure procedures for feline guests.
  • Ensure a calm and stress-free environment for all cats.
  • Follow all safety and animal handling protocols.

Required Skills

  • Genuine love and compassion for animals, especially cats.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Reliable and punctual.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with cats in a professional setting (e.g., cattery, shelter, veterinary clinic).
  • Knowledge of basic cat behavior and common health issues.
  • Familiarity with animal first aid and CPR.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
