Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Fleet Maintenance Coordinator to join our team in New Port Richey, FL. This role is crucial for ensuring the operational readiness and efficiency of our extensive fleet of collection vehicles and equipment. The coordinator will manage maintenance schedules, oversee repairs, manage parts inventory, and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. A strong technical background and a keen eye for detail are essential to thrive in this fast-paced environment. This position offers a robust 401k plan as part of our comprehensive benefits package.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule preventive maintenance and repair activities for a diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment.
- Monitor fleet performance, identify recurring issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage parts inventory, procurement, and vendor relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective repairs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Support technicians with technical guidance and troubleshooting as needed.
- Utilize fleet management software to track assets, schedule services, and analyze data.
- Prepare reports on fleet status, maintenance costs, and efficiency metrics.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance coordination or a similar technical role.
- Strong technical understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and heavy equipment mechanics.
- Proficiency in fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Automotive Technology, Diesel Mechanics, or a related field.
- ASE certifications (e.g., Medium/Heavy Truck).
- Experience with waste collection vehicles or similar heavy-duty vocational equipment.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance.
