Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services to a diverse patient population across various age groups, addressing a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders. This role involves working in an inpatient or outpatient setting, collaborating with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, voice, fluency, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, evidence-based practices, and established goals.
- Provide direct therapeutic intervention, utilizing a variety of techniques and modalities to improve patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families on communication strategies, dysphagia management, and home exercise programs.
- Document patient evaluations, treatment progress, and discharge summaries accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
- Participate in professional development activities, continuing education, and in-service training.
- Adhere to all ethical standards, regulatory guidelines, and organizational policies.
Required Skills
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or eligibility for certification.
- Current or eligible for Pennsylvania State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Proven clinical experience in assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with a diverse patient population and cultural backgrounds.
- Specialization or advanced training in specific areas such as dysphagia, voice disorders, or pediatric speech-language pathology.
- Experience in an acute care or rehabilitation hospital setting.
- Multilingual abilities, especially Spanish, are a plus.
