Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Self-Checkout Monitor. In this easy-to-learn role, you will be the friendly face assisting customers using our self-checkout lanes. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure a smooth, efficient, and pleasant shopping experience by providing support, troubleshooting minor issues, and maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the self-checkout area. Key Responsibilities
- Actively monitor self-checkout stations to identify and assist customers who may need help.
- Provide friendly and prompt assistance with scanning items, payment processing, and bagging.
- Troubleshoot common self-checkout issues (e.g., item not scanning, payment errors, age verification).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked self-checkout area.
- Process returns or exchanges as needed, following company policies.
- Verify age for restricted items such as alcohol or tobacco.
- Ensure all customers have a positive and efficient checkout experience.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth store operations.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs.
- Basic math skills and ability to handle transactions accurately.
- A friendly, approachable, and patient demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service environment is a plus, but not required.
- Bilingual proficiency (Spanish and Guaraní) highly desirable.
