Job Description
This entry-level Junior Flight Dispatcher position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about aviation to kick-start their career with a global leader. You will be instrumental in the safe and efficient operation of FedEx Express flights, working under the guidance of experienced dispatchers. This role provides comprehensive training and a clear path for professional development within our dynamic Flight Operations team, preparing you for a critical role in flight planning, monitoring, and control. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior flight dispatchers in the preparation and dispatch of FedEx Express flights.
- Monitor real-time flight progress, weather conditions, NOTAMs, and other operational information.
- Help prepare detailed flight plans, including fuel calculations, route optimization, and payload considerations to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Communicate effectively with flight crews, air traffic control, and ground operations regarding operational updates, changes, and potential deviations.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of flight movements, operational data, and communications.
- Participate in pre-flight briefings and post-flight analyses to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
- Learn and strictly adhere to all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and company operating procedures.
- Provide support for emergency response procedures and irregular operations as required.
- Continuously develop aviation knowledge and skills through on-the-job training and formal courses.
Required Skills
- Strong interest and passion for aviation and airline operations.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress, and highly regulated environment.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with standard office software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to obtain an FAA Aircraft Dispatcher certificate within a specified timeframe (company-sponsored training and support provided).
- Ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Aeronautical Science, or a related field.
- Previous experience in an aviation-related role (e.g., ramp agent, customer service agent, aviation intern).
- Familiarity with aviation weather systems, flight planning software, and aeronautical charts.
- Prior completion of ground school for FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate or equivalent aviation coursework.
