Job Description

Mobile Bay Music Academy is seeking a passionate and skilled Part-time Woodwind Instructor specializing in Flute and Clarinet. This role involves providing high-quality, individualized and group instruction to students of varying ages and abilities, from beginners to advanced players. The ideal candidate will have a strong performance background, excellent pedagogical skills, and a genuine desire to inspire a love for music in our students. You will be responsible for developing lesson plans, assessing student progress, and contributing to the vibrant musical community of our academy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engaging and effective private and group lessons for flute and clarinet students.
  • Develop and implement personalized lesson plans tailored to student needs and goals.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback.
  • Prepare students for recitals, auditions, and examinations, if applicable.
  • Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding progress and upcoming events.
  • Maintain a professional and inspiring learning environment.
  • Attend faculty meetings and participate in academy events as required.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Flute and Clarinet performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach woodwind instruments to diverse age groups and skill levels.
  • Strong pedagogical skills and knowledge of music theory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans.
  • Passion for music education and student development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Performance, Music Education, or a related field.
  • Previous experience teaching woodwind instruments in a formal setting.
  • Familiarity with various teaching methodologies.
  • Performance experience in professional or semi-professional ensembles.
