Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Banking Compliance Auditor to join our robust compliance team in Decatur, GA. In this secure professional environment, you will play a critical role in ensuring that Truist adheres to all relevant banking laws, regulations, and internal policies. You will be responsible for conducting thorough audits, identifying potential risks, and recommending corrective actions to safeguard the bank’s reputation and financial health.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and report on compliance audits across various banking operations and departments.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance programs designed to mitigate regulatory risks.
- Identify and assess instances of non-compliance with banking laws (e.g., BSA/AML, Reg E, CCPA) and internal policies.
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports detailing findings, recommendations, and action plans for remediation.
- Collaborate with business units to develop and implement effective solutions to address identified compliance gaps.
- Monitor the timely implementation of corrective actions arising from audit findings.
- Stay current with changes in banking regulations and industry best practices to ensure continuous improvement of compliance frameworks.
- Participate in risk assessments and provide input on emerging compliance risks.
- Assist in training and advising staff on compliance-related matters.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of audit procedures, findings, and follow-up activities.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in banking compliance, internal audit, or risk management within a financial institution.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state banking regulations (e.g., BSA/AML, OFAC, Fair Lending, UDAAP, Reg CC, Reg E).
- Proven ability to analyze complex financial data and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and concisely.
- High level of integrity, objectivity, and professional ethics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification such as Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).
- Experience with audit management software or governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) platforms.
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
