Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Weekend Night Porter to join our team at Mercure Hotels in Bradford. This crucial role ensures the safety and comfort of our guests during the night hours, providing exceptional service and maintaining the smooth operation of the hotel. You will be the main point of contact for guests, handling check-ins, inquiries, and any emergencies that may arise. This position offers attractive Saturday and Sunday rates to reward your commitment to weekend work.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform late-night check-ins and early morning check-outs for guests.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all guest requests and inquiries during night shifts.
- Conduct regular security checks and patrols of the hotel premises to ensure guest safety and security.
- Monitor CCTV systems and respond to any alarms or disturbances promptly and professionally.
- Handle guest complaints and resolve issues efficiently and courteously.
- Assist with light cleaning duties and setup for breakfast service.
- Process end-of-day reports and ensure accurate handover to the morning shift.
- Manage the hotel switchboard and direct calls as necessary.
- Maintain a tidy and organised reception area and lobby.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible with a strong work ethic.
- Basic computer proficiency for handling reservations and administrative tasks.
- Ability to handle demanding situations calmly and professionally.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel night porter or hospitality role.
- Knowledge of hotel property management systems (e.g., Opera).
- First Aid certification.
- Local area knowledge of Bradford and surrounding West Yorkshire attractions.
