Job Description
Join BetterUp’s innovative Virtual Life Lab as an Assistant focused on testing new habits. This fully remote position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge behavioral science research aimed at understanding and facilitating habit formation for improved well-being and performance. You will play a crucial role in supporting our research team by assisting with study design, participant recruitment, data collection, and analysis, all from the comfort of your home office. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and refinement of virtual habit-testing protocols and experimental designs.
- Support the recruitment, screening, and onboarding of study participants, ensuring diverse and representative cohorts.
- Facilitate and monitor virtual experimental sessions, ensuring adherence to protocols and data integrity.
- Collect, organize, and manage qualitative and quantitative data using various digital tools and platforms.
- Conduct preliminary data analysis under supervision, identifying trends and patterns related to habit formation.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of all research activities, participant interactions, and data collection processes.
- Communicate effectively with study participants, providing clear instructions and addressing inquiries.
- Collaborate with senior researchers and internal teams to contribute to research findings and reports.
- Stay informed on best practices in behavioral science research and remote study management.
Required Skills
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with data entry, spreadsheet software (e.g., Google Sheets, Excel), and virtual collaboration tools.
- Demonstrated interest in behavioral science, psychology, wellness, or human development.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a 100% remote environment.
- Problem-solving aptitude and a proactive approach to tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or holding a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Behavioral Economics, Neuroscience, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- Previous experience (academic or professional) in research assistance, data collection, or participant coordination.
- Familiarity with habit formation theories, behavior change models, or experimental design principles.
- Experience using research software or survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey).
- A track record of successful remote work or study.
