Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a dedicated and insightful Veterans Affairs Policy Researcher to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. In this role, you will play a crucial part in analyzing and developing policies that directly support the well-being and success of military veterans. You will work on critical projects, conducting comprehensive research, evaluating current programs, and proposing innovative solutions to complex challenges faced by the veteran community. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth qualitative and quantitative research on Veterans Affairs policies, programs, and initiatives.
- Analyze legislative proposals, regulatory changes, and their potential impact on veteran populations.
- Develop clear, concise, and evidence-based policy briefs, reports, and presentations for various stakeholders.
- Collaborate with government clients, veteran advocacy groups, and internal subject matter experts to gather insights and build consensus.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of existing veteran programs and recommend improvements.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, challenges, and best practices in veteran support and public policy.
- Assist in the development of strategic plans and recommendations for policy implementation.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in policy research, analysis, or program evaluation, preferably within government or a related field.
- Strong understanding of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) structure, programs, and policies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Proficiency in research methodologies, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Sociology, Economics, or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., Public Policy, Social Work, Law).
- Direct experience working with veteran populations or military families.
- Experience with federal government contracting and proposal development.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, R, SAS) or data visualization tools.
- Veteran status is a plus.
