Job Description
Join UPS, a global leader in logistics and package delivery, as an Entry-Level Hub Associate in our Santa Rosa, CA facility. This role is a vital part of our daily operations, focusing on the efficient processing of packages within the hub. It provides an excellent opportunity for individuals with little to no prior experience to begin a fulfilling career with a clear and structured pathway for advancement to a UPS Driver position. You will receive comprehensive training and support to ensure your success in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently load and unload packages from trailers, trucks, and conveyor belts.
- Sort packages according to destination codes and ensure proper placement for onward transportation.
- Scan packages accurately to update tracking information and maintain operational flow.
- Adhere strictly to all UPS safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks or forklifts, after receiving proper training and certification.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within designated work areas in the hub.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational targets and deadlines.
- Perform other general warehouse duties as assigned to support overall hub operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry packages weighing up to 70 lbs (assistance provided for heavier items).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to work flexible hours, which may include early mornings, late evenings, or overnight shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or physical labor role is beneficial but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of package handling and sorting procedures.
