Job Description

Waste Management, Inc. is offering an incredible opportunity to become a Heavy Vehicle Operator through our fully paid CDL-A training program! We will cover the costs of your commercial driver’s license (CDL-A) education, providing you with the skills and certification needed to operate our state-of-the-art heavy vehicles. Upon successful completion of the training, you will transition into a full-time Heavy Vehicle Operator role, contributing to essential environmental services in the Roseville community. Key Responsibilities
- Successfully complete all required classroom and behind-the-wheel training to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A).
- Adhere strictly to all state and federal Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies during training.
- Learn to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on heavy vehicles, identifying and reporting any defects or maintenance needs.
- Develop proficiency in operating various heavy vehicles, such as refuse trucks, in a safe and efficient manner on designated routes.
- Understand and practice safe driving techniques, including defensive driving, proper backing, and navigating challenging road conditions.
- Maintain accurate records, including vehicle logs, route sheets, and other required documentation, as instructed.
- Provide professional and courteous service to customers and the public while representing Waste Management, Inc.
Required Skills
- Must possess a valid driver's license (Class C minimum) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT physical, drug screen, and background check.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all company policies and procedures.
- Excellent work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
- Must be at least 18 years of age (or 21 for interstate driving, if applicable after training).
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior experience in physically demanding roles or outdoor work.
- Basic mechanical aptitude or interest in vehicle maintenance.
