Job Description

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and proficient Remote Proofreader & Editor to join our dynamic editorial team. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a keen eye for detail, a strong grasp of grammar, spelling, and punctuation, and a passion for polished content. You will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and consistency of various written materials across our digital and print platforms. Key Responsibilities

  • Review and proofread a wide range of content, including articles, reports, marketing materials, and digital copy, for grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, punctuation errors, and adherence to style guides.
  • Edit content for clarity, conciseness, coherence, and accuracy, ensuring it aligns with editorial standards and brand voice.
  • Verify facts, dates, and statistics where necessary, collaborating with content creators for clarification.
  • Ensure consistency in terminology, formatting, and stylistic conventions across all materials.
  • Identify and correct inconsistencies or logical gaps in content.
  • Manage multiple proofreading and editing tasks efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Provide constructive feedback to writers and content creators to improve overall content quality.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Proficiency in Canadian English style guides (e.g., CP Style, Chicago Manual of Style).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to spot even minor errors.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Google Docs.
  • Reliable internet connection and a dedicated home workspace.
